The Department of Pas-de-Calais obtained for the first time the Grand Site de France label on March 29, 2011 for its emblematic coastline of Deux Caps Gris-Nez, Blanc-Nez.
In 2018, the site received the ministerial decision, signed by Nicolas Hulot, former Minister of Energy and Solidarity Transition, who is renewing its Grand Site de France label for 6 years.

The Site des Deux-Caps is part of the Réseau des Grands Sites de France, an association created in 2000 with 47 Grands Sites members. Like the Site des Deux-Caps on the 29th March 2011, 21 other Grands Sites have received the Grand Site de France label from the ministry for the environment - a sign of good management with respect for sustainable development.
